Side ache while running?

Hey! I'm new to running for the most part. I was a three sport athlete back in high school but that was a long time ago! I recently started running and I find that by the time I'm a little over half way done with my run I get a terrible side ache. What should I be doing to prevent this? Thanks!

It might be your breathing. Is it that 'stitch' feeling? If that's it, deep breaths will make it go away.

Slow down and breathe more regularly. Try a pattern of three seconds of breathing in, and three seconds breathing out. You can adjust it to 3-2 or 2-3 or 2-2 depending on how that feels. Its important to just be even instead of irregular.
