How much protein is too much protein?

I recently started cutting out breads, pastas, candies, cookies, pop, etc because I realized that my compulsive overeating was being majorly triggered by them. Now I can hit almost 200g a day of protein since I stopped veganism. Idk if I want to eat high protein but now my sugar and overeating cravings are practically gone! I can actually eat one serving and not reach for more when before it was like I physically and mentally couldn't control it. I guess I am scared of the whole ketosis thing and also I don't want to binge on sugar later. Which is why I've also been eating protein bars because they taste like candy bars but they don't trigger the cravings the way refined carbs and sugar does.

And yeah I know there is sugar in them but not as much as like a regular candy bar. And it's so filling that it controls it better.0

What's wrong with ketosis? Fats are good for you, how much fat do you eat?0

If refined carbs and sugar trigger overeating, then could you try unrefined grains? How about brown rice? Also fruit is high in sugar but might not trigger overeating. It really is important to be eating some carbs to avoid ketosis.0

Most people need to eat fewer than 50 g carbohydrates per day to achieve ketosis, and you're nowhere near that. Your diet looks pretty average to me. I do keto and my goals are 35 g carbs, 88 g protein and 102 g fat.0 -

What is the bars on the above comment? It seems to be a new feature because when I used to use MFP it wasn't there. Was his comment banned?0

They are in mfp jail. I think it happens if the poster has had a certain number of warnings?? It's annoying when you're on your phone as it covers up their whole reply. But on the computer the bars only cover their profile pic, so you can still see/read their comment.
you can Google "myfitnesspal jail" lol

Why only 21g of fat?
The OP is eating 50 g fat/day, with 21 g of it saturated.
I am eating 102 g fat/day. I aim for 50 g saturated.0 -
I thought saturated fat was bad for you? Sorry this is all new to me...0

I'm at 100g of protein for today, and yesterday I hit 144g. I'm not really worried about it being "too much". Some days I'm lucky to hit 80g of protein.
The only reason I should be aiming for less fat is because I lack a gallbladder. I also need to keep my fiber up as I recently had part of my colon removed.0 -
I try and go over my fat and protein settings. I've got fat at 45g and protein at 122g0

Both brown and white rice are high in arsenic. Eat sparingly! There is nothing wrong with ketosis. You are confusing it with the diabetic version. Carbs are found in vegetables, dairy, fruit so there is no need for the GMOs you get these days in grains.0 -

You won't enter ketosis eating that much carb's and sugar a day0
