Weight Gain- how and why?

Hi there,
Below I have posted my weight. In the last week ALONE I have "gained 3 lbs." I KEEP gaining weight. And yes, I have splurged and such, but not enough to gain 5 lbs. in less than a month. What could cause this? Why is my body doing this? Can being on antibiotics affect this?

    Weight loss is not static. It might be that part of the month, where many women gain water weight, maybe you've eaten more salt and retaining more water, maybe you started working out and your muscles retain water in order to heal themselves, simply hormons... it might also be that you're not in a deficite. Are you weighing your food with a food scale?

    I'm having the same problem but I only weighs once a week last week was 135.2this week a woo 137.6

    Weight fluctuates day to day. Use a seven day average and look at the overall trend week to week or month to month.

    Id say check your caloric intake and weigh your food for sure.
    Other than that, weight is effected by pms/periods, amount of poop in your body, water retention, there's a lot of factors. I weighed at 155.8 yesterday, I ate just over 1900 cals which is only about 200 over maintence yet this morning (first day of period) I showed at 158.8. Weight can fluctuate 5-6 lbs or so depending, especially for women!

    Without a food scale, counting calories is not really possible. Estimations might work if you have a lot to lose and e.g. instead of creating a 600 calories deficit you end up creating a 300 calories deficit by making good guesses. But with not too much to lose, an error of 200-300 calories per day, might be enough to not lose at all. Based on your weights, you are actually eating slightly above maintenance, so you are eating more than you think you are. Of course you can lose weight by just eating less, but id you want to make an educated less on how much less, then try usign a scale for a while.
