Complete beginner saying hey!

Hi there!
I'm pretty much a fitness beginner, having given up on regular exercise some years ago. Now I have below average fitness while my weight rises, so though I might not look excessively large, I'm getting a bit overweight and rather wobbly.
I'd love to slowly make changes and build on my endurance and strength while watching what I eat a bit more. I have such a lack of ability that my confidence to go out and join fitness classes/do communal exercise is all but none and I really hate fad diets. I want to make long term and maintainable changes for a healthier me.
If anyone feels similar at all, say hi. It'd be great to hear some stories
