Vegan diet actually bad for you?

After Christmas I started a near all vegan lifestyle. I ate mostly veg and fruit, little carbs from things such as pasta and flour and switched from skimmed milk to almond/coconut milk. I drank date/spinach almond smoothies nearly everyday and yes I was losing weight slowly. however, since changing my diet I have constantly been troubled with ailments.

I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, and prescribed to go on an 8 week course of high dose VitD and calcium suppliments then switching to over the counter. Yet all that has to be put on hold because I have developed troubles with my stomach/gallbladder.

My gallbladder was releasing bile into my stomach, instead of my gut, causing intense pain, sickness and all that comes with it. At first they thought it was Gallstones but couldn't see any. Then after an endoscopy they realised what was wrong. They say it's because I didn't really have a stomach lining to protect itself from the bile. I am now on a high dose course of medication after over a week and a half hospital stay. My question is, it is because of my way of eating?
