Is it possible to gain 10 pounds in a week & 1/2?? Prior to this week & 1/2, I hardly ate, sometimes I wasn't hungry & other times, I was afraid to gain weight. I started eating due to pressure from my husband. Now I eat just to appease him, however my food intake ranges anywhere from 500-2,000 calories.
I am 40 years old & 5'7" tall.

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like very disordered patterns of eating that are not sustainable and will get you nowhere. You've got to come up with a long-term healthy plan for yourself and you will reach your goals. It will take time, but that is okay if it lasts, no? Good luck!

Find a routine or formula that works for you. Routines sound boring but they work, I eat the same thing every morning weekday. Instant oatmeal. This keeps me from eating donuts and other empty calories floating around the office. Come up with a basic healthy menu and try to stick to it as much as possible. This works for me.

    1. Yes its possible to gain ten poinds, but its most likely to be water weight. To gain ten pinds of fat you would have had to consume 35,000 calories over and above your maintenance. As according to you it sounds unlikely you were even at maintenance then it will just be water weight.
    2. Eating to appease anyone rang alarm bells and my reaction was you shouldnt, but then I looked at your diary and its hardly filled in. You need to eat a reasonable amount each day to give your body nutrition. That would be a min 1200 calories. 500 over a period would be too low.
3.If you want to lose weight in the long term then sort out your logging and record your food accurately i.e weigh it.
