No energy during workout

i have heard that if you don't have good energy during your workout your not doing any good to just keep going anyway is this true ? I would think that exercise is good anytime ??? Today I felt sluggish and ran out of gas but just pushed thru am I doing harm doing this.

    Just today I usually have good energy and can power thru in good shape but today i felt week and no power at all yesterday was a rest day but I usually exercise 6 days a week.

    If not taking a multi, a B-complex vitamin supposedly helps with energy. I *think* it helps me, assuming it's not placebo effect.

    Thanks I'll try the vitamin and maybe mix in a extra rest day here and there

    Are you eating your exercise calories back? What are your exercise goals? What type/duration of exercise are you doing?

    Try simple carbs 30 minutes before.

    Sounds like you may need to be eating a bit more prior to a workout. I do tend to warmup doing either cardio or just light weight on squats and then push through. Some days are just better than others but if you're eating, drinking, and getting enough sleep you should be having a good enough workout to see results.
