The WCRF, in response to stories like this, issued a statement saying that while they do indeed recommend that people avoid processed meat,
The articles talking about processed meat being ‘too dangerous for human consumption’ are unhelpful and scaremongering. We would say that if people can’t cut out processed meat completely they should cut down. WCRF International advocates a sensible, healthy, balanced diet.

no I'm not surprised at all on the processed meats ..not at all!!

Hanging head in shame... I do so crave an all beef bologna and a piece of the sliced wrapped fake cheese on Miracle whip sandwich once a year. Something else is an all beef hot dog craved also once a year. But I don't do that anymore.....they don't sell bologna sandwich individually or I might.:grumble:  I think it was a kid meal that gives it fun memories... but way too much sodium for either of those for me to decide to eat now.. only my opinion before the Bologna police jump on me.:smokin:

The American Institute for Cancer Research agrees.
Research on processed meat shows cancer risk starts to increase with any portion.

Regardless of cancer concerns, the sodium content is crazy high.

Even if fruits and vegetables are organic does not mean they are not grown without pesticides. One that is used is nicotine completely organic but extremely poisonous to insects. "Nicotine kills insects by interfering with the transmitter substance between nerves and muscles. It's commonly used to control aphids, thrips, spider mites and other sucking insecticides on most vegetables, some fruits, flowering plants and ornamental shrubs and trees." - reference http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/CoopExt/4DMG/VegFruit/organic.htm

They have banned neonicotinoids in europe , as i kills bees, and without bees, we are all pretty much goners.

Unless everyone takes a q-tip and starts touching up plants to fertilise them.

While nicotine is poisonous to humans, it is also beneficial and naturally occurs in some vegetables such as peppers. Eating these vegetables reduces the risk of Parkinson's Disease. Even smokers have a lower risk of Parkinson's.
