Is this a good idea?

I am really dedicated to losing the 70+ pounds but for the life of me I cannot seem to stick with an exercise routine. So I thought to myself what is impeding me from doing this. And the answer I came to was that I get bored extremely easily. Things like T25 and other organized program seem to bore me the minute we redo a video. So I planned my days like this.

Monday - Virtuagym App Workout (30 mins)
Tuesday - Blogilates Workout (45 mins)
Wednesday - Sworkit App Workout (30 mins)
Thursday - FitnessBlender Workout (50 mins)
Friday-Sunday: Rest Days
*Not new to exercising so I can handle the back to back workout days.

I have class on the same days that I workout. So it's a constant reminder and aid to wake me up. I have already started using it and today is Tuesday. I want people's opinions on this. I plan to change the specified exercises/workouts every month so that I'm not shooting myself in the foot, but it seems doable to me.

Need those second opinions please! Thanks!

  • Exercise is great to aid in weight loss. Calories in vs calories out is the most important. As far as your question is concerned, do workouts that will keep you motivated and that you like to do. Much easier to do something you like.

I'm the same way with "routines" and why I never sign up for classes. I just try to be completely active for 30 minutes a day, doesn't matter what I'm doing but it's 30 minutes I put aside for myself, cardio, strength training, yoga, run, walk whatever pops into my head is what I do but I put 30 minutes into it for myself.

I personally don't do well with "rest days" anymore and find I have to do something so those are usually days I take peaceful walks or do yoga, they're calming to the mind and still have benefits for the body.

I'm the same way - I have (and keep working on) a good collection of DVDs and online videos to choose from - generally what I do is, each night at bedtime I give a little thought to what workout I want to do the next morning, then I decide for sure during my Snooze time in the morning. It works for me because if I'm feeling tired or stiff I can go for a more mellow or stretchy workout, but if I'm feeling like a tiger I can pick something more extreme. I just keep it to mostly circuit (weights and cardio mixed), with some straight cardio thrown in.

I've been doing M-F and taking Sat-Sun off. I don't like the Friday workouts all tired and worn out, but I do like being well rested on Monday.

If your goal is fat loss, you need to focus on what and how much you eat.

If you have other fitness goals, find a program to work on those. Exercise is about health and fitness, not fat loss.

And bored just means not committed. Sorry, but its true.
