Talk to me about tofu...

I just saw a reference in a thread about chili seasoned tofu. Now, I haven't yet ventured into preparing food with tofu, but it's time to start. So talk to me about everything tofu. Where is it in the grocery store? How do I prepare it or season it? What are good things to put it in?

It's usually in the produce section in the grocery store. Asian grocery stores will have more of a selection of brands and types at a better price. Regular or firm work best in stir-fry dishes. I also like it diced up cold as a protein source in my salads. Soft tofu is good in brothy soups like miso. Tofu is pretty bland so whatever you season it with, that will pretty much be the flavor it takes on.

Yep, produce section at most stores. I like marinating it in Goya Mojo Criollo. This is usually in the ethnic section, with other hispanic products. I've done Tofu crisps and they are really good. Just cut up a bunch of thin strips, sprinkle a little olive oil and salt on them, and bake them until crisps. They can get addicting!
