Cutting while lifting

Hello everyone,

I'm cutting after a year long bulk and am having trouble understanding how many calories I should be consuming.

Right now, I'm still doing the same Stronglifts 5x5 program that I was doing while bulking, but now with fewer calories.

At 5' 7" and 180, my bulking calories were around 3000 because I found over time that my maintenance was around 2500. So I figured that my cutting calories would be around 2000. However, since my weight hasn't changed in the past month, it feels like 2000 has become my maintenance instead.

Is 2000 for cutting calories reasonable in this scenario or am I just eating too much?

There is no sure answer. I'm 5'8" 150 and cutting on 1800

For someone 6' 3", I would think you're cutting calories would be much higher than mine but one of the more reliable TDEE calculators says 1800.

So I'll try that for a little while and see what that does. Maybe my bulking calories are not as high as I thought they were which is good because that was way too much food.
