I was just wondering which do you prefer and why? Do they work
the same muscles? Not sure which I should spend most of my workout time on. Thanks for your thoughts in advance

I had a Gazelle many years ago and absolutely loved it. It's simple, no impact and cheap. That said, I think the average elliptical machine nowadays is far better and has more to offer with customized resistance settings (the gazelle has them, but it's kind of clunky). I would go with an inexpensive elliptical over a Gazelle.

The older Gazelles that gave you the ability to adjust resistance are nearly as good. But the only one still being produced is the Gazelle Edge, which does not give you the ability to adjust or increase resistance. The calorie burn you get from it is no more than what you would get from going for a walk. If you want something you can do in front of your TV screen, save money and get a jump rope.

    Elliptical.

The gazelle has no stride. The wife got one and it killed my knees because they never changed the way they were bent.
