Iron is best absorbed when taken with vitamin C. That's why my Dr. Recommended I take a supplement with orange juice (anemic).
Calcium can counteract iron. Not all daily vitamins contain iron anymore. Dangerous if children get a hold of them.
Natural sources are raisins, spinach, packaged cereal (Raisin Bran, & Grapenuts). Have strawberries in your spinach salad.

My iron is really low and they put me on iron supplements but I don't take them because they are really constipating. I try and eat spinach which is high in iron. That reminds me I need to get my blood work checked again. UGH
I think there's one called Ferrous something or other that is the least constipating. Good luck!
