I already carry around a water bottle, but lately I haven't been drinking much water. What do you guys do to get your daily intake??

I was doing a super great job (12-16 cups/day) but recently got sick, and couldn't stand regular water. I had to have something with carbonation or my throat just felt disgusting.

I'm getting back into water with carbonated flavored water. The plan is to wean myself off of it and get back to regular water by the end of the month.

I put in something so it has a flavor. I like the True Lemon packets - no artificial sugars just powdered lemon. Or I'll add other fruit or throw in an herbal teabag. Or drink flavored seltzer (unsweetened).

I also drink it warm or at least room temperature. If it's too cold I get cold, and I'm always already cold.

My husband and kids love love love drinking ice water. So I'm the outlier in my family, but I've never liked water by itself. I make myself drink it because its good for me but it isn't natural to me (which is silly- your body is made of water and needs it...shouldn't I crave it?)

I drink a pot of coffee every day. Sometimes I drink more than that.

Is drinking water mixed with flavouring or drinking coffee count as water? Just curious... I make sure I drink four 500ml bottles of water at work daily throughout the day which is eight glasses of water.

I carry around a water bottle. Ha, sorry, but I do, and it helps me get my water in all day long. It's not a disposable bottle, but a leak-proof Contigo bottle that goes everywhere I go. It holds 24 oz (they also have 32 oz sizes), and I log three cups of water every time I empty it. It fits in my cupholders in the car, it's dishwasher safe, comes in fun colors, easy to drink, pressing the button with one hand, etc, etc. Having it with me all the time makes it easy to just reach for it and have a drink . I have several of them, and we have different colors for each family member - works great for us.

I use an app called Water Your Body... it reminds me duing the day to drink if I start to fall behind.

In general though, before every meal, I finish up whatever is left in my bottle to have with my meal... so thats 60oz right there just from water with meals alone. Also, I finish my bottle before I use the bathroom and fill it up again afterwards. Another thing, before I leave home I also finish my bottle, and fill it up to take with me.

Its sort of become habit now, before meal, finish and refill, before bathroom, finish and refull, before leaving the house finish and refill...its a action based routine that has helped me out a lot.

when i was weaning off soda, i would put lemon in my water. Now I can drink it plain but sometimes i toss one in. I do like the flavored carbonated waters, too though. I have a few in the fridge.

I have my bottle with me at all times. But I drink the most during meals. One of the best tips I ever got was to bring it with me during food prep. I can easily polish off a whole bottle by sipping at it while I'm waiting for the toaster, heating up a burner, making coffee, etc.

I also notice that I will drink a lot if my bottle is sitting around 2 or 3 o'clock (relative to me). This is only possible for me right now at meals (my side table is on the left in one room, or directly in front of me in another) and I am sometimes struggling to get the amount of water I feel good drinking as a result. It's like, in the one position, I'll reach for it over and over, and the others, I forget about it. (I'm right-handed, so the positioning is convenient.)

Yes, it counts as water. Your body can't tell the difference between drinking water with something mixed in it and drinking plain water after eating the stuff you are mixing into it.

LoL! Indeed! But I PROMISE you..once you start drinking water and stay hydrated, the amount of trips to the bathroom goes down.

When I started, I felt like I was forever living in the bathroom, but now it seems my body has adjusted, because drinking the same amount and sometimes more, Im back to normal bathroom visitations

I have a soft sided brita water bottle (the hard-sided ones are garbage!) and thus I can drink water anywhere without it tasting weird. I find that if I keep it near me, I drink it out of boredom. I have a front desk customer service style job, so it gives me an excuse to walk ten feet from the desk to get a drink of water. I also always fill it before I go out to the car, because I'll drink it on the way anywhere and not even notice I'm drinking it.

I don't worry about water. I drink 32 ounces of coffee every morning and other beverages as I desire during the day. Food is actually mostly water and eating a balanced diet full of fruit and veg keeps a body plenty hydrated.

I get in at least a gallon of water on most days. I don't drink anything else. If you're having a problem getting water in, google for fat flush water. It's just water with fruit, but the taste of it may help you get it in. For me, I LOVE water and it loves me! Happy drinking!

    .

Nice app - thanks for posting it!

I used to drink too many fluids. Now, the further I get with logging, I've noticed my water intake has needed attention.

As i hate the taste of water passionately, I do drink very little. I will drink from the gym and maybe my water bottle if i fill it up, otherwise though out the day i drink very weak squash. Probably intake around 3 litres a day of fluid.

I'm not the biggest fan of the State of Kansas, but it's where the job is, so we're here. And the water is absolutely wonderful where we are. It wins awards for purity and taste. In Chicago, we bought bottled, and in Kansas, we have it from the tap and we love it.
