Hey!
I've had a My Fitness Pal account for a while - it was required for my "Fitness for College and Life" class last spring - but I just decided to start using MFP again. I run cross country and track at my (small) college, so I'm in pretty good shape. I think MFP will be beneficial because our coach started incorporating strength training into our practice schedule. I want to make sure I'm on the right track nutrition-wise to build muscle, especially in my core. I know that building muscle takes protein, and sometimes I don't think I get enough, because I don't eat meat every day (any advice from vegetarians or vegans about this would be greatly appreciated). Hopefully being a part of the MFP community will help me reach my goals of eating more healthily and strengthening my core.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

I'm not vegan/vegetarian but my wife is. When we eat a lot of plant based meals I try to add some type of lentil to it. Black beans, pintos, black eyed peas, or whatever. I also supplement with protein powder. I am not a big meat eater, but I do consume quite a bit of eggs, fish as well.0

Thanks for the response. I do try to eat protein rich foods that aren't animal-based, like lentils, eggs, and Greek yogurt, if I don't eat meat on a specific day, so it sounds like I'm on the right track.0
