Weight Training for Beginners !!

My current weight is 177 lbs and my height is 5' 6". I am two months into this weight loss journey and have mainly depended on walk for my weight loss. Since it was a recent gain, I lost around 20 pounds easily. All without any strength training. I want to ease into strength training now. I am looking for a beginner level strength training program which I can do at home. I googled and there is lot of information, enough to confuse. I want a basic program which works. Any idea where to start? Thanks in advance.

Strong Curves has a body weight/at home programme, here's the chart for recording your workouts: http://bretcontreras.com/wp-content/uploads/Strong-Curves-Workout-Templates.pdf
If you don't have any equipment there's a body-weight version of the programme (scroll down to p.19 of the pdf).0 -
If you don't have a barbell, rack, and bench, do a bodyweight strength program. I suggest buying a book, like You Are Your Own Gym, Convict Conditioning, or Body By You. Bodyweight progressions can be a little bit complicated, so it's nice to keep a book handy for reference.
You Are Your Own Gym has an app that goes with it that people seem to like. I haven't used it myself, though.0 -
