does anyone use a fitness tracker like the Fitbit or Jawbone? I'm thinking of getting one but I'm not sure which is better.

I have both, and Jawbone's customer service is terrible. My UP24 broke last month, and I'm still waiting for a replacement. I read in MFP's Jawbone group people've been waiting since November: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/13420-jawbone-up-bracelet

Also, UP requires a compatible smartphone or tablet. Fitbits can sync (via a dongle) with a computer.

MFP has a Fitbit Users group, too: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1290-fitbit-users

I have a Fitbit flex and love it. I have had few issues and when I have questions Fitbit customer service has been very quick and helpful. It has been one of the best motivators for me to get moving more.

Your best bet is to decide what you want out of a tracker. Do you just want to track steps? Do you want to track your sleep too? Do you need one that can be worn while swimming? Do you want one that includes a heart rate monitor? Are you a bit forgetful and likely to forget to clip it back on your clothing? Do you mind something on your wrist 24/7? How much are you willing to spend?
