If you are eating less than it takes you to maintain your current weight, you will lose weight.

If 1500 calorie zone is your deficit. Absolutely... No exercise is needed to loose weight..

Edited to say that 1500 calories includes your deficit (i.e. 500 calories less than your maintain calories...sorry)

I would say stay at 1500 for 2 weeks, if the scale doesn't budge go down to 1450 and go from there.

You don't have to exercise to lose weight, but it's still a good idea. You don't have to be overweight to have the health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle (Goolge the term "skinnyfat.")
Besides, exercise can be fun and makes you feel good. Find the time to do something during the week.

Weight lost is independent of exercise as it's simply a matter of burning more calories than you consume.

The benefit of exercise is that it can increase muscle mass (which in turn raises the amount of calories your body burns)

It preserves muscle loss (so your body is not pulling it's energy from the muscles, but rather from fat stores).

This is not a technical description, and I'm sure that there are plenty on here who could more accurately describe the situation.

But short story is... Yes you can.
But you'll likely be happier with the end result if you can find a way to add in some form of strength training (even body weight exercises).
