sprained ankle

Hey so today i sprained my ankle while gpong for a walk with my kids. Its swollen. Does this mean i shoukd Take a couple days off? Or just walk the next few days?

    Initially, yes. But don’t lay up for days. Try moving it without weight on it and as it gets better, start adding more weight to it. The ligaments and tendons don’t get much blood flow in good conditions, so don’t leave it suspended up for a long time or you’ll further limit the blood flow.

    If the swelling hasn’t subsided in a couple of days, you should go to a sports doctor, who may set you up with a PT. Most General Practitioners are going to ex-ray the joint and then recommend RICE and maybe prescribe an anti-inflammatory. A PT will help you maintain, regain function.

    Ok. I thimk i will. Last night i got our if bed cuz ny daughter was cryinf and had a hard time just making it to the kitchen to warm a bottle. :/
