Muscle soreness is not a good indicator of a good or bad workout. Getting stronger on a strength routine is a good indicator.
  • If your diet is excellent it could be you're not working out with enough intensity. If your diet is great, it just means you're healing up well from the good food you eat. Provided you're eating enough you shouldn't be that sore.

I tend to find when my diet is poor or I am not eating enough I am sore, when it is on point, I am rarely sore.

No matter what kind of workout you do, there's really no need to exercise until you are so sore you can barely move.

Some people wear their post-exercise soreness as a badge of honor, but all it really means is they over-did it.

In my opinion, that is where you want to be. That extreme soreness you feel when you start is because you are just starting, and probably using muscle you haven't in a while. If you have been doing it a while, then of course you are going to be sore, but not as sore as when you started because those muscles are used to it. The DOMS everyone talks about gets less the more you use your muscles. At least in my experience they do!

Soreness does not mean you over-did it!

Being slightly sore after a workout is fine.

But personally, I don't like to have to get through my day being more than slightly sore.

When people push to the point of being very sore after every workout, it can but a lot of strain on your body to constantly have to heal that much muscle tissue.

It's much better to go into a new workout gradually instead of getting too sore and barely being able to walk or move the next day!

You may just recover quicker than most people and if you eat enough that also helps the recovery time.

The point is, if you constantly work your body, you won't always have that I can't get through my day soreness!

Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you've "over-done it"! It may just mean you haven't done what you just did in a while, or ever, and it's your muscles way of saying I need a break! Over time, you recover better because you are used to it, and some people recover better than others.

IMO, and again, my opinion...if you don't ever get sore, then you aren't working hard enough to improve your body!
