I've lost the same 25lbs so many times :( and even more at points. Even when I really feel like I've made a complete lifestyle change, I get comfortable and give myself way too much slack. 25lbs worth.

Hi, I'm back.

Welcome back! It is ultimately YOUR choice whether you succeed or not. Make a plan that will work for you for years!! Maybe you have trouble with temptation; then set up a cheat meal or cheat day ever so often. Then really THINK before you eat, so you don't shove empty unhealthy calories mindlessly. Try to enjoy what you DO eat, and don't eat unless you are hungry! Just because it's dinner time doesn't mean you eat no matter what! Make your calories count. Keep a water bottle with ice water with you all day. Set a goal with a reward, then something special for MAINTENANCE !! be truly serious this time around. . . Make this your last loss! Don't gain it back!! :-D
  • Hey Llaurenmarie,
Thank you for your honesty and for making me smile- I'm wondering how many I've lost - I may have surpassed your 300 :) but I am continuing to persist - going to the gym and working with a trainer 2-3 times a week when not traveling for work and that has without a doubt improved my immune system. I used to be on the verge of a cold frequently and that has practically stopped - amazing. I'm looking into some people who are writing on resetting things like hormones with the way you eat - that might be what I need. Thanks again - blessings, Susan M.

Welcome back. The past is the past. Take what you have learned and move on. You can do this!

Thanks all for your kind and helpful words. Something that hit home for me was seeing a thread of all the unexpected things that come with weightloss. And it made me miss them. I do have an emotional eating problem, but if I've kicked it for months before, I'm sure I can beat it in the long run.

Same here! And I am so mad at myself for not staying at my goal weight the last time. I then reached it by losing about 20 pounds, now it's more like 30.... But we'll get there again, and suffering a throat infection at the moment, also helps....

    Feel better !

I think self awareness is a lot harder to hold onto than people think it is. Once you have it you feel like it's yours, until you're ignoring your crying body, mind, or heart. Listening to all three is tricky, but necessary.
