How does a HRM work? Does it take your weight and height into consideration? Does it count calories burned? What do you like about yours? Is it a good investment? I really want to be accurate logging in my calories burned. Any feedback would be great!

I have a Polar F6 HRM & I had to enter my height & weight when I set it up. It counts your calories burned. Mine has the chest strap that communicates with the watch & it is really a great investment. It stops all the guessing of how much you burned in calories while doing activities. I've found that it is not the same as the auto-fill for activities in MFP. Some are close, but its much better to have your actual accurate count of your calories burnt. I purchased mine at Sears.com a few weeks ago. It was on sale for about $57 total. Apparently according to several people on MFP that was a GREAT buy! So check it out see if you can still get one on sale at Sears.com! Hope that helps you!

Do you mean HRM? Heart Rate Monitors work by using your stats (height, weight, age, ect.) along with your hear rate to calculate calories burned. I have a Polar FT7 that uses a chest strap with an electrode on it to read my heart rate and it transmits to a watch that tells me my heart rate, calories burned, ect. I got this one b/c it got really good review and is water resistant wich was important for me. There are others that don't use a chest strap but they are not as accurate.0

trust me get a hrm,polar if you can at least a f6 model you wont regret it,i would not be without mine now i have one theres no more guessing how many cals burned doing workouts,dont trust cals on machines can be very wrong even sites like this one which is brilliant can be out,you could go to 10 different sites to work out your cals burned during a workout and they would all tell you different numbers0
