Hello MFP community! My name is Nicole and I am twenty one years young! I am new to this website and I hope it'll give me the motivation I need throughout my weight loss journey. I am about 5'1 and could stand to lose about 90-100 pounds. I have always had a job where I am on my feet 8 hours of the day. I am active but know I could use help in that category. My real problem is over eating and not being able to tell when I am truly full, which is probably most of us here. I usually cook at home, but not real healthy. I also have a VERY picky boyfriend who eats like a little kid (very basic/plain food and not a veggie/fruit lover). I however am willing to try veggies and fruits more in my diet, love most of them! I could use helpful words and any tips and tricks anyone might have. I have tried this weight loss thing before, but I have never been so motivated! Thank you in advance, :)

  • I have some tips. To lose weight, you need to eat less calories than your TDEE, or what your body loses each day. Go to iifym.com/iifym-calculator to find out your TDEE, and go to the lose weight section to the left of TDEE to see how many calories you should have as your goals. Then, always always log your food. Maybe get a food scale to be exact. If you consistently log your food, the pounds will fall off!

Now, a trick I learned to stay full from wrestling ( have to cut weight ) is to eat the calorically light foods (veggies, fruits, etc) first! Fill up on these, because you can eat a lot without a lot of calories. Eat slowly, and drink a TON of water when eating. Then, move on to your more calorically heavy foods. Eat the main 'protein' last ( meat ). These will help you feel full, and prevent binging. Good luck!
