Hi,

I am about to get more serious with the calorie counting and tracking lifestyle and want to go grocery shopping. What are products or foods that you would recommend? I am open to everything, including dish suggestions! Ideally, the food and products or recipe ideas should be delicious and filling (and healthy)! What are your staples to survive a low calorie day? What is worth eating? What is filling and tastes good? What is satisfying also in a small amount worth the "bucks"? What do you fill up on?
I am a good eater in terms of amount (and unfortunately tend to overeat emotionally as well...) and I am also a "gourmet" I just love to eat nice things.....
The only thing I really do not eat that much is sugar or teeth damaging things (like honey, agave nectar, maltodextrin...). I tend to go for non-teeth damaging sweeteners instead (with exemptions of course-so please also list your favorite non-tooth-friendly items ;O)...).

Many thanks for any inspiration!

You might like to look at budgetbytes.com My family has enjoyed many recipes from that site.

I like The Greek Gods honey flavor yogurt. One of the larger containers lasts me about a week. I sometimes eat it with fruit.
Beans, lentil, oatmeal, vegetables can all make low calorie and filling meals. Eggs are a staple for my house. We get full fat dairy products.
