Oh audiobooks is all I ever did during walks and runs.

I did the whole Harry Potter series and loved that the chapters were just long enough for a session (30-40 minutes). I also listened to Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! which was a lot of fun, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Physics of the Impossible, The Metamorphosis (who knew I would sympathise with a cockroach!), The Little Prince, Sofie's World, Good Omens, The Westing Game, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, The Goldfinch, The Time Traveler's Wife and more (you can see how random my taste in books is).

I'm currently listening to The Twilight Zone radio dramas.

You have excellent taste in books! Try some Spider Robbinson if you get a chance. Or Terry Pratchet.

This is going to sound like such an idiot question...but....what is a podcast?

    Thanks :)
Funny, I purchased Raising Steam audiobook last week. I have not tried Spider Robinson, thank you for the tip!

A podcast is essentially a DIY radio-type broadcast on the internet where one person or more talk about certain subjects. Their shows usually have a certain theme or point of interest.

I ONLY run with audiobooks. I walk with them too. I used to commute 60 miles each way with them. I love them.

I use public library (overdrive) and audible.

    A few random favorites:
    The Millennium Triology
    Harry Potter
    James Patterson books
    Susan Hill books
Newer Stephen King books (listening to Mr. Mercedes now)
Gone Girl is next in my queue.
it's also how I "read" most of the diet/health/fitness books I've read.

    Yup!

If you use iTunes you can find them in the store (although they are free) - you can download them on your phone, or on PC and then sync to an ipod. You can subscribe as well and automatically download new episodes.

They go from "Some Guy In a Basement" all the way to WNYC as far as the quality of production and presentation.

And a lot actually are radio shows on-demand without commercials, so it's kind of like an audio DVR in that regard.

Its probably weird but I listen to a lot of stand up comedy on pandora when I work out. It always switches to different comics and keeps laughing, happy and interested.
