Why is this so hard the second time?

I was a MFP regular a few years ago, and lost about 30 lbs. I did slack a bit and gained 10 of those pounds back - as soon as I realized I started hitting the gym in hopes of getting back on track.
Unfortunately I got into a car accident and suffered back pain for months along with both my shoulders freezing (first the right then the left). My back still hurts to date but its not too bad now. My left shoulder is partially frozen and my right has gotten better.
However I still cannot do weights like I used to ( I can do some leg exercises but thats about it)
I have been trying to do keep up on MFP, but I can't seem to get back into it. I do not have the same motivation or something is lacking, cause I am really struggling. On top of that I am hungry alot, and find myself snacking on foods I should be avoiding or having once in a while. My meals are pretty healthy in terms of nutrition and calories but in between meals I get hungry (tried drinking water, tea, chewing gum, etc..).
Part of it is "boredom eating", cause I am at a boring desk job that's not always busy.
Anyone else fall off the wagon, and having issues getting back on track?
What worked for you?
