Loosing my motivation

I've stopped going to the gym, my bad eating habits are slowly returning. It's been like this for several weeks now. I know what everyone will tell me: just start up again, don't give up, etc. but I feel so down and depressed. I don't know how to pull myself out of this rut. I'm so frustrated and upset with myself even now as I write this I'm tearing up. I'm not trying to be all dramatic, but I'm really upset with myself and angry that I allowed this to happen when I was doing so well! I wasn't too strict with food, if I wanted sweets or salty, etc, foods, I'd have them but only a serving size or I would tell myself I can have whatever I wanted but that I would wait a while and see if the craving was still there if so, I'd have a little. And as long as I was going to the gym three times a week I was content. Sometimes I went four times. Has anyone else gone through something like this? I'm going to try to push myself to go to the gym tonight after work. But, who knows if I'll make it. So in the mean time I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions you guys could give me. Thanks!

Make the next best choice. Being healthy is done one choice at a time. Don't think too far ahead! What's the next best choice you can do? Go for a walk? Dance in you living room? Have an apple instead of a cookie? Do that. Then make the next best choice.
That's also how we lose weight, one pound at a time!
Also, you should find what is your motivation. WHY are you doing this? Dig deeper than "I want a 6 pack" or "I want to look amazing in a bikini". Those things won't get you up and moving at 7pm on a Thursday night when friends offer beer and a movie instead of going to the gym.

Maybe you are just bored? Try a different exercise. Power walk instead of getting on the treadmill. Just change it up. Sounds like you are well balanced food wise.
Also maybe try to envision what being healthy feels like to you. Is that extra cookie enhancing your life? Sometimes the answer is yes. Just don't eat it mindlessly.
Of course I am saying this when I just had an egg roll I did not need. But I wanted it and looked at calories and decided yep. Having it. And it tasted great.0 -
Do you have a goal?
I found a number is too abstract, I can't focus on that and push myself to get there, but I can imagine what it's like to wear the body I'm working for and push towards that.
Maybe find a fitness goal for the time being? Run 5k or do a pull up? Join a sports team?
I found that if I stay focused on fitness goals it was much easier to say "I don't want that cookie/cake/latte because I'll feel crappy at training". If I took my eye off the fitness goals and aimed for 9 stone, it became "eh....I've got ages to get there, I can have a cookie....or two"
