Why am I so hungry now?

From August 2014 to the Holiday season I was tracking like a pro, and wasn't hungry very often on my plan and was losing consistently and steadily. After kind of falling off the wagon during the holidays, I've had a hard time getting back on. One of the reasons is when I started tracking again I've found I am way hungrier than I used to be even after a week or so of "getting used to it". I have gained back some weight but otherwise I've not changed my eating patterns from when my plan worked in the fall. What gives? Has anyone else had this happen after falling off the wagon?

Are you eating too low of a deficit? Are you getting adequate protein?

Also, going back to a deficit from a major surpluses is just hard, straight up. I am mad hangry after Christmas/Thanksgiving, etc

I've noticed that when I don't eat much protein or fiber, or keep myself hydrated, I feel hungry more often. It could be that. It could also be that during your time off the wagon, your stomach got used to more food and now it's not happy with less.
