water experiment

Greetings, everyone. I am planning to experiment with water to personally experience how it affects my weight and metabolism over the next two weeks. For this experiment, I don't plan any changes to my diet, although my diet may change due to increased water consumption and less appetite, which I expect to occur.
My plan is to drink 10 oz. of water every hour from shortly after I wake up in the morning, until 2 hours before bed at night. That should be about 140 oz. of water a day. I am 5'11" and weight 265, so I can handle that much water. Incidentally, I weighed 175 in August of 2012, which was very near my ideal weight. I have a plan to return to that, just as I did before. It takes about 9 months. I'll also post later about how I fell off the wagon and regained, but that is for a different discussion.
It will be interesting to see what happens by spiking my metabolism with 10 oz. of ice cold water every hour, assuming I can do it. I chose 10 oz. because that is an easy amount to drink all at once in about 7 gulps.
I'll let you know how it goes, day by day.
Cheers,
Joseph

Every little bit helps. The other effects of cold water suppressing appetite and helping to flush fat and toxins from the body is also very beneficial. I'm very interested to see how this single change affects my weight over the next two weeks.

FYI - you can't spike your metabolism…so this test is already heading in the fail direction...0 -

your body already flushes toxins naturally ….0 -
Regardless of the effects (or not) of drinking "cold" water, will be interesting to hear OP's opinions on whether the regimented water drinking results in appetite suppression and weight loss. (I know a lot of people on MFP drink more than 140 oz a day will no ill effects.)0

That and 2 weeks isn't enough time to see any changes0 -

I will go ahead and give you the results now..
OP will drink 140 oz water a day.
this will make OP feel full
OP will lose some weight due to eating less and peeing out water weight
OP will associate this with "cold water" spiking metabolism.
OP will come back and post another thread that will end up a level four dumpster fire that is nuked after 30 pages, the last ten of which will be gifs…

Not really. The amount of energy used to for the water to warm is negligible. It doesn't alter your metabolism. It doesn't flush fat or toxins.
All you'll do is fill yourself ... partially ... with water.0 -

So what? At least the OP will learn something about himself in a manner that is safe and part of a quest to better himself. This forum is for support and motivation.0 -

The forums are not meant for 100% blind support of all ops ..,0 -
Why don't you just eat less right now instead of wasting 2 weeks.0
