I spend on elliptical 5 days a week 50 min per day. I don't get any more time to perform strenghten exercises. Does elliptical tone abs?

Have you thought about swapping out some of the cardio time for strength training time? I firmly believe that with HIIT (high intensity interval training) you can accomplish your normal burn of calories in less than 50 min, and then use the other time for strength training/abs to get a more rounded workout.0

If you have time to walk on the elliptical for 50 minutes, you have time to do body weight exercises or use weights. Nobody needs 50 mins on the elliptical. do 20 and do 30 minutes of strength training - the results will be so much better...
- And no, the elliptical wont give you abs....0 -
"Toning" abs is almost entirely a question of losing abdominal fat, honestly. The abs will show up when the fat goes away. You can build up the muscles a little, but that's going to take serious heavy compound lifting along with fat loss, not crunches.
If you are just looking to increase your core strength--which is a great idea for overall health--try using the elliptical without holding on to the hand grips. So, like a real running motion. I think you--and most people who haven't tried it--will be surprised how much the effort to balance yourself, especially at higher intensities, can work a weaker core. *I* was surprised when I made the change. I definitely struggled in the beginning to go as fast as I could when holding on!0 -
Another great thing that helps with abs: Get a balance ball and sit on it instead of a chair. It forces your core to stay in alignment and upright. I'd sit on one at work, but I think they'd stare at me.0

No.
Why not change two of your weekly workouts to strength based routines instead?
Doing the same thing 5 days a week must be deadly boring.0
