Hi! I'm considering investing in essential oils for my health and weight loss. I'm curious if anyone uses them for weight loss and what you think.

How would an essential oil cause you to lose weight?

This...i figure taking in fewer calories than you burn will work best and cost less.

That's a new one on me... What exactly should they do for weight loss? Smells like another wallet-lightening gig to me...

Certain oils act as appetite suppressants. Others are metabolism boosters.

Is this backed by research or something that is said by those selling essential oils?

No, they don't. Also, if the person selling you them tells you to ingest them (like put a few drops under your tongue) or they don't tell you that you have to dilute them before putting them on your skin (like mixing with another oil) then walk away. They don't know what they are talking about and they could potentially cause you serious harm, including kidney damage and seizures.

Yes I've heard of this. It uses essential oil technology to vaporize the fat cells to cause degeneration to cellulite, and its futuristic formula targets the metabolism boosters so they roar to life. But wait, it gets worse! Buy one now and we'll give you 5! For free!

Essential oils are not magic. If you like the smell, great. But none of the claims made by the people selling essential oils can be backed up by level one clinical research.

    Don't waste your money.

I will buy appetite suppressant. A girl at work makes the office stink with them and I really don't want to eat. You could also put a little dog poop around the house as an appetite suppressant.
