Maintaining during life's events...

Hi! Well, although I started to change my lifestyle for the better last year, my sister's wedding has helped motivate me to keep on my weight loss goals - it's in 3 months! Eeeeeek!!!!!!!!! Anyways, in one month I have to host a shower. In two months, there's the bachelorette party. And in 3 months - the wedding!
I'm quite sure that I will NOT be sober for any of these events...I deal with an anxiety disorder and that does not mesh well when I'm the center of attention (I'm the MOH) next to my sister.
I guess I'm asking for others opinions on what they would do. How do I maintain some sort of rationality during these (drunken) times. Would you just give in and eat as you please during these 3 special days?
Comments/tips/ideas please!
Thank you!

Well, if you are already planning on drinking be sure to try to make better choices of what you drink. Less beer, more vodka. None of that SkinnyGirl crap. It's pretty disgusting. Other than that, enjoy yourself, have fun and try to stay hydrated.0

One drunken day here and there will not derail your efforts; just make sure that the next day things go back to your new normal: healthy.0

so you have one maintenance day per month.... no harm done....0

Hi Pam
I feel yes you should indulge.Your sister only gets married once(hoping) You will always have your fitness plan in the back of your head so it will guide you and get you back on track if you fall.
Remember "Don't drink and drive" Have a Great Time and congrats to your sister0 -
Thanks everyone! Your reinforcements, ideas and well wishes are very helpful and kind! ...And luckily, I am more of a vodka girl; always have been! :-)0

I've found it's not the drinking that's necessarily the issue, it's all the mindless eating that tends to go along with it. If you can control that aspect you should be good to go... Stick to Vodka and diet tonics, they're like 70 cals each. Tastes great and, well, you can drink a ton of them without demolishing your calorie intake.0

just kill your diet and work out hard every other day. You can always work it back off. I went on vacation and drank all week and ate almost anything I wanted and gained 5 pounds then lost it within a few days. Just be somewhat aware of what you are eating. Grab fruit instead of the crackers and stuff like that. You need cheat days in a diet or you will just go crazy and end up binge eating and gain more weight. My husband and I have one cheat meal a week!0
