I've been noticing as I track my food intake that a lot of my calories are going towards carbs. I have looked around online for some help on how to cut my carbs at least in half to save some calories but I did not find anything very helpful, so I decided to come to you guys.. Do you have any suggestions, tips, or tricks on how to cut carbs in an officent way that would be helpful to me and others trying to cut carbs out completely or at least limit how many carbs they intake. This is a tough spot for me because I come from a Polish/Italian family so we live off of breads and pastas. Help! :)

my suggestion, if you are in a calorie deficit then there is no reason to further reduce carbs...

so here is my question ...are you eating to the number MFP gave you, when you entered your stats?

If yes, then continue as you are doing; if not, then you need to further reduce calories...

I am assuming that you have no medical condition that makes you sensitive to carbs...

You don't need to cut carbs to cut calories. Just eat less of whatever it is that you're already eating.

Yes! I have been sticking to my 1460 calories a day strictly with exercise as well. I have no medical condition but my doctor said it might be a good idea to consider cutting some carbs out of my diet to help with weight loss. My problem is that 50% of my calories come from carbs, should that be a concern?

There is no reason to cut carbs if you're achieving your calorie defecit and happy with it

If you're hungry you could look to lower calorie vegetables and satieting proteins / fats

I have lost on a diet of 50-60% carbs, eating around 250-350g daily

your doctor is an idiot :)

Not a concern....carry on. What you are doing now is working.

There is lifestyle change to consider. I could make a temporary change (low carb)...but then after I have lost the weight....I have to figure out how to keep it off. Portion control works because I "learn" more about all foods.

if you are hittng your calorie goal for the day, and have no medical condition then you should be good to go ..

I am cutting right now and I am getting about 175 to 215 grams of carbs per day, and I am losing just about a pound per week ...
