edited November 2024 in Goal: Maintaining Weight
I used to maintain while eating 1300cal + fitbit cal but then I decided to try upping it to 1400cal + fitbit cal. I ended up gaining 2 kg so I went back to eating 1200+ fitbit cal but couldn't shake the weight off. So now I'm now eating 1300+ fitbit cal. Why is that so?? Should I try to lose those 2 ifs? Because sometimes it swings up to 3kg...
I'm measuring my food accurately using a digital scale and all my liquid with a beaker.

Is your sodium or your carbs high? If I eat more than 50% carbs consistently (week to week, not day to day) my weight will creep up no matter what my calories are. Sodium obviously just causes water retention.

If you are comfortable at your current weight, I would try to find a maintenance for that. Perhaps you need the 1300 + fitbit. If you want to lose the weight, it may just take time at 1200.

I am also a fitbit user. The calorie allowance has always worked well for me. However, my husband takes little tiny steps and I think he gets more calorie allowance from it than he should, even though we have both adjusted our steps to our stride length.

What do you mean find a maintenance for this weight? Thanks for the advice! But my carb % has always been high ,however I've lowered my sodium intake.
