Losing again *sigh*

*sigh* I'm a 41 year old woman. Everywhere here I read that women have massive problems losing weight. Losing 14kg was super easy for me. I was hoping for 8-10kg, but it was so easy I continued. I'm 5'65" and 133lbs, in maintenance, just barely I'd say but eating as much as I can since my stomach is a bit messed up from some asthma medication and I get heart burn from many food items with higher calories. In case you wonder: yes, I am weighing everything to the gram.

Since I started running 4 weeks ago I'm losing weight again. Surely, a 2-3 mile combined walk/run doesn't burn much calories. According to runkeeper I've burned 2607kcal now, which I'd say is quite a bit too high (I calculate net calories using METs for appropriate walking and running speeds - it worked out for swimming in the past). The B12 anaemia I had should be treated by now and red bloodcells look normal. I do feel great again (finally! After literally years) and even nerve damage seems to heal. Other than that thyroid results in line with subclinical hypothyreoism, small amount of antibodies possibly beginning hashimoto (but could also be related to pernicious anaemia). I'll of course discuss with my doctor when I have the next appointment in two weeks time.

Are there other people who lose so easily? Did you ever find the reason?

Do you have an issue with eating back the extra calories you're burning?

Yes, I try to eat them back as much as possible. Btw, I swam before I picked up running. While the calorie burn should have been similar to a bit lower, I'd not expect to lose weight at the current rate.

but if you're losing you're not eating enough so add more calorie dense foods until your weight stabilises

oils and butters and creams and nuts and avocadoes etc

it's not a straight maths calculation - it's a guestimate, what happens in your body shows that you are not eating adequate calories and there's really only solution to that

Yes I know. But I cannot eat a lot of the calorie dense food at the moment as it gives me heart burn, which in return leads to irregular heart beat and sleepless nights. Especially food rich in fat is a problem, as is most dairy. Which again means I'm eating quite a bit of carbs (and chicken if the office canteen serves it). Btw, my weight was stable for quite a while. Then it started to go down very mildly corresponding to me picking up running, and since two weeks more rapidly.

Well it's a challenge but you have to find calorie dense food you can eat which will help you maintain or cut down on your running until you can or get your doctor to prescribe H2 blockers or proton pump inhibitors alongside antacid

in fact I think a trip to the doctor might be in order

Yes, I have the doctor trip coming up. I used a ppi before, but it only messed up my stomach even more so I'm trying not to use it unless it's really necessary.

sounds kind of necessary - there are a number of different ones to try, perhaps find one that works better with your body

so much of modern medicine is trial and error
