i had a baby 3 months ago and I can't seem to loose this weight. I changed my diet to healthy nutritious foods and cut my calories and lost nothing. I added in exercize and still nothing. So I started a vegan meal replacement shake twice a day and I'm eating what is recommended nutrition wise on this app and I'm not getting anywhere. I'm exhausted with my efforts getting me no results. What's next?

Have you seen a doctor? You may want to get your thyroid tested?

Sounds like you just need to be a bit patient.

In the last three months, you've tried changing things up at least 3 times, before giving any one thing the chance to work.

Focus on logging (measuring/weighing and tracking) every bit of food that goes into your mouth for the next 3 weeks. Try to move a bit more.

Evaluate after those three weeks. If you've lost, say an average of .5-1 lb per week, then keep going. If not, drop your daily calorie goal 150-200 calories and try for another three weeks.

You are only 3 months postpartum, give your body time and focus on that little baby you have. If you are breast feeding you should not be restricting your calories. Also I would re-consider the shakes and focus on eating real food. It's better for you and the baby.

Speak to your doctor and ask to be referred to a dietitian.

Put the baby down when you get on the scale.

Are you nursing? People always talk about how easy it is to lose weight while nursing, but I know several women (self included) who have a real hard time losing while breastfeeding. It could also be hormonal. It takes your body quite a while to get back to normal after pregnancy. After saying all that, I do think it would be a good idea to see your doctor for advice and perhaps testing.

Whoah whoah, before the random stranger forum medical advice, three questions.

Are you eating at a calorie deficit?

If so, how long have you been eating at a calorie deficit?

Are you accurately weighing all food on a food scale, measuring liquid and logging correct entries from the database?

Just because you are eating 'healthy, nutritious food' doesn't mean you are necessarily eating at a calorie deficit. You need to make sure you are eating fewer calories than your body needs in a day in order to lose weight. However, if you are breastfeeding, you might want to be careful. Breastfeeding can burn 500 calories per day and you can put yourself into a nutrient deficit and this can be harmful for the baby as well. you might need to just be patient and wait until you are done breastfeeding and then work toward your weight loss goals. Eating right is important and not overeating is important, but be careful for yourself and baby as well.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Your body changed over almost 10 months. You can't expect it to go back instantly. Eat healthy, be active, and don't stress. You can do it!

Are you breastfeeding? I'm not sure why but most women have a harder time losing weight while breastfeeding. I wouldn't beat yourself up too much, your only three months PP. I'd just focus on that sweet baby and ditch the shakes.

Yeah I couldn't lose weight for the life of me when I was breastfeeding. When I stopped the weight started to fall off. Enjoy your baby and don't stress it right now. Like everyone has said your body just went through a lot.

Nope not breastfeeding. I'm probably eating 1,600 cal a day before I was eating probably 3,000 a day or more. Lots of junk cookies, candy and fried foods. Now it's spinach turkey wraps, blueberrys, almonds. Had a preeclampsia and a c section it was an awefull delivery and I can't seem to get my body even close to normal. I just want to feel healthy again. I'm going to have to get my thyroid checked the pregnancy may have caused problems with it.

Bolded is your problem (along with impatience).

Until you can get a handle on EXACTLY what you're eating in a given day, you have no way of measuring if it is working or not.

Measure, weigh, and accurately log everything for 3-4 weeks and monitor your progress. Then AND ONLY THEN if it's not working, make minor adjustments and repeat until you find the calorie level that works for you.

You aren't eating at a calorie deficit.

    Eat at a calorie deficit.
