I just joined last week, and am hoping that this may be the outlet I need to help in my long overdue journey back to a healthier and happier self.
My current weight is 243 and I'm wearing a size 22, the highest it has ever been. It hasn't happened overnight, but been a gradual occurrence over the last 15 years or so. I'm a big stress/emotional eater which is a big part of the problem. Between losing both my parents, the only person I ever felt close to and would call a friend (besides my husband!) and struggling with difficulties of having 5 kids (2 of which with medical issues), I've definitely consoled myself with more than my share of Hagen Daz... On top of all that joyfulness, I've got a congenital defect with my hip which makes even simple things like grocery shopping extremely painful, so my ability to be active has diminished more and more as time goes on.
I go in for my last ortho consult next week, before I finally get hip replacement done. I'm hoping once that is taken care of I can gradually get back to the activity level I had 15 years ago, and this process will be that much more successful!
Anyway, it's nice to meet you all. Good luck to everyone here!
