Hi everyone! My husband and I are going to jamaica on Friday and I DO NOT want to slip back into old habits of eating junk like crazy...especially at an all inclusive resort. Has anyone here been to Jamaica and have suggestions for me?

I haven't been there YET, going on our wedding/honeymoon in November. Walk a lot and use the gym if they have it! We are going on a cruise and that is what I am planning on doing. I bet you will be so busy you won't be to bad!

    HAVE FUN!!

I try to go easy on the creamy drinks and only drink bottled water through out the day, and have a couple of light drinks at night. The times I've gone on vacation and had alcohol all day I feel crumby anyway.

For the food, I usually indulge in the delicious meats (lobster, steaks, seafood, etc) and go easy on the carbs, even though they will be declicious! Hope that helps a bit!

ENJOY YOURSELF!!! Even if you gain a pound or two (or five) you can get rid of it when you're back!

Iree man! Jamaica is so nice!
If you are going to an all inclusive, there should be lots of fruit available. I can't remember about the veggies for some reason. Maybe fill half of your plate with those and the rest of your plate with other things (everything in moderation). There are so many amazing jamaican dishes. I personally love like Ackee and salt fish for breakfast, jerk pork or chicken and curry goat (for dinner). mmmmmmm

    Enjoy your vacation!

Don't worry about it. Dance the night away, take long walks on the beach, walk around like a tourist and eat their fresh foods like fish, etc.

You will haev an amazing time.

Ohh and go swimming, lots and lots of swimming.

Come back and make us all jealous.

I think you just wanted to brag and make us all jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been to Jamaica but just on a cruise so I was not there long...it is fun and it is beautiful!!!!!!!! As others suggested, choose healthy foods from the buffets most of the times but also enjoy the fine dining and good desserts and all...you can use the resort's gym and take advantage of the exercise classes offered...also walk along the beach, even jog if you'd like and lots of swimming but best of all, ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You don't go to Jamaica every year, right? RIGHT!!! :flowerforyou:
