Losing different second time around

About five years ago I lost 90 something pounds. I kept this off fairly well for a couple of years. I never quite made my goal weight then. Then I started slowly creeping back a little at a time. Last year I lost my job due to silly reasons. This was the cause of more weight gain and all total I ended up gaining back about 60 pounds. On the plus side it's not the whole 90 I lost initially.
I've noticed a difference in the way the weight is coming off this time. I'm almost 30 pounds down and 2-3 sizes depending on the brand. The funny thing is the last time I was in this size I weighed about 20 pounds less. I guess I've put on more muscle while losing this time. This does make me wonder about my goal weight though. I'm still shooting for that same goal weight from five years ago. If this trend keeps up I may make my goal size well before my goal weight. I've lost 5.5" total from my body but absolutely no weight in the past month for example.
Has this happened to anyone else? Where they lose differently and then rethink their goal weight? I don't want to get too skinny and lose all my curves and I'm not at that point yet. I do have a ways to go still in the losing weight and toning up department.

Yeah, I'd say from age 22-34 I've lost 30-50 pounds about 3 times. The first time in college, ended up about 155 and a size 10 pants, medium shirts. At 26 I lost 30 and end up at 160, size 8 pants, medium shirts. 34, lost almost 50, ended up at 145, size 4, small/xsmall shirts. I've regained about 10 over the winter, and this time at 155 I'm a size 6-8, small shirt. I think it depends on what you are doing to lose it. Eating less, working out more, what type of working out you are doing. Age plays a part too.
If only I could stay between 150-160 for the rest of my life and not have to do this again. I'd hate to know what size I'd be the next time I lose weight!0
