I have been dieting for 2 months and hAve lost 17lbs. I am 5'5" male who weighed 230. I am now 213. Last week I was 216 and 34%bf.....this week I am 213 34% bf. Granted I am using a 30$ scale that measures weight and bodyfat, Bmi, and hydration levels. I'm not sure exactly how accurate the bodyfat detector on it is. How is it possible I lost 3lbs and no body fat% change? Did I burn all muscle?

Body fat measurements on the scale are inaccurate. I bet you lost quite a bit of body fat and maybe even gained muscle too. When I lost 20lbs, my BMI never changed and I looked like my profile photo. BMI is really useless to go by and can be discouraging. You could buy some calipers or measure yourself regularly with a soft measuring tape. Those are good and cheap ways to have an approximate idea of your BF%0

When it comes to body fat, scales do little more than take a wild guess.0

Ok thank god! U guys made me feel a lot better. It's one of those scales that I guess sends electricity or something and measures the bf% I guess Almost like sonar. My Bmi was better but like I said the bf% was exactly the same. Lol normally losing 3lbs I would be super super happy but after reading that I was bummed out haha. I was like great all I managed to do was lose all muscle haha.0
