How to log HIIT? Not in database?

Hi! Is it because HIIT varies so much that it's not in the database? I'm not sure how to log strength training with HIIT between sets ... anyone do similar?

Do you have a heart rate monitor (hrm)? They are very useful tools for estimating calorie burns. All the best!0

I was amazed that it wasn't in there either. I mean "Ice fishing while sitting" is an option in the DB for crying out loud. Ha.0

Yep - pretty much to answer your question. If you're doing it in-between sets it's likely that what you are doing isn't strictly HIIT anyway.
What kind of protocol are you using? I ask only because people you the term HIIT to encompass such a large range of activities these days.
With true HIIT (like running or biking) you basically have two options for logging. Average your speed over the total time/distance or log the high intesity component and the low intensity component separately. They both work out the same and at best only give an approximation of calories burned. The first is probably easier0 -

I'd say that it's most likely because HIIT isn't an actual activity but more of a protocol (maximal efforts interspaced with lower intensity efforts). I.e. when people say they are doing HIIT they could be doing cycling, running, battle ropes, kettlebells, bodyweight movements etc. Also the time intervals that people use can vary wildy (20 on 10 off, 1 minute on 1 minute off, 30 on 1 min off etc.) There will be a vast difference in calories burned depending on the activity and the intervals0 -

NO.
HRMs will vastly over-estimate burns for HIIT or anything interval-y.
