So I've lost 8lbs in 13 days

...while on vacation. No, seriously. I even upped my calorie goal from 1340 to 1550. This is unheard of for me (took me 5 months of hard work to lose 10lbs). I have tried to keep my logging accurate even though I am working with estimates since I am on vacation and I can't weigh anything; but I figured I'd be overestimating a lot of what I'm logging (like when you log food you eat at restaurants). I've been pretty much hitting the 1550 calories daily too!

What is going on?! I know some of what I've lost is muscle because I haven't done any strength training, but 8lbs? I don't think so! And yeah, there is water weight but again...come on!

Should I be worried? I don't want to create an imbalance or something and then balloon up when I go back home.

Anybody with some insight as how this rapid weight loss came about? And any tips on how to keep things more stable?

Hello :) I am the same, I've almost lost a stone in just over 2 weeks. My weight has now plateaued. It was water weight but I have noticed big changes in my body. My cals are 1500 and I'm eating healthy are exercising. I'd say when you get back home, just continue eating well and to exercise and you shouldn't balloon up. :)

Are you using the SAME scale to check your weight? Calibrations differ from scale to scale.

^^^^ I agree with this... you've probably lost a few pounds from walking/exploring on vacation, but it's likely that the scale is registering different than your scale at home would.

The scale in my house is exactly 5 lbs heavier than the one in my parent's house. They can be that different!

I have taken that into consideration, yes. But I'm not only going by the number. My brand new pants that I bought just before my trip (that fit perfectly and were even just a tiny bit tight) now feel a size too big. So even if the scale is off and it's not 8lbs exactly, it is a significant enough loss that my clothes feel loose.
