Fish, quinoa and beans.
Chicken breasts, roasted sweet potatoes, green beans.
Spaghetti with ground turkey, and half of a turkey italian sausage, whole wheat pasta.
Pork chops, roasted white potatoes, asparagus
Ropa Viega (spelling?) over brown rice with plantains
Turkey burritos with black beans and either quinoa/brown rice. (you can find a recipe to make from scratch taco seasoning to cut out a lot of the sodium found in it)
Turkey burgers, homemade sweet potato fries
Those are a few of the ones my family and I eat, I do make my spaghetti sauce from scratch and have found really good recipes for the white and sweet potatoes. I oven fry my pork, use a dry rub on my chicken or oven fry it. I add sweet potatoes into my Ropa and pretty much use what ever roast is on sale for it. Good thing about the Ropa is you can make multiple meals in one shot and freeze it for later, same with the spaghetti sauce. I will make a two pound bag of beans up and separate it/freeze it and use for different meals. I mostly use olive oil if I need oil. I know the pork is a little fattier and higher in calories, but we like them and only eat them a couple times a month.
My protein for the day is usually over 100 g a day. Lunches are generally spinach salads with 4 oz of chicken, I also make my own greek yogurt and eat about 12oz of that a day. The yogurt is my breakfast and afternoon snacks.0 -
Onion
Mushrooms
Sweet potato
Asparagus
Carrots
Chicken breast or sausage (my fav!)
Dice it all up. Throw it in a skillet with olive or coconut oil. Put the lid on it, stir frequently. Add a handful of leafy greens (swiss chard, spinach, whatever you like), replace lid and let em steam. For an extra shot of protein, make a hole in the middle and crack an egg! BAM!0 -

Why low fat? Fat is important for nutrient absorption and satiety. Don't cut it too low.0
