I like songs like: Help, I'm Alive by Metric and The Howling by Within Temptation, but so far my playlists have varied in genre. It has been fun making the different ones for C25k using audacity and a cue podcast that was set up for the program. Makes it a lot easier to make it through each day.

Queen "Don't Stop Me Now" is great for a good sprint. Black Sabbath is good for a jog.

My playlist includes songs from the "That's What I Call Running" albums from 2014 and 2015. A Google search will bring up the song lists. Nearly all of the music has a great beat for running.

I switched to the podrunner app on iphone. He puts out a new mix every week or so. Its all EDM but its at a specific beats per minute and if you purchase the app you can change the BPM on the fly to be at the pace you run. Each one is about an hour long so just about perfect. You can also get a intervals app but I have not played with that.

I'm new to this whole running thing and didn't realize how important music selection was until I tried running to Slayer. My current playlist is rancid, Welch Boys, rage against the machine, and the beastie boys
