Putting less calories in your mouth then your body uses. AKA a calorie deficit.0

I am no expert but apart from repeating that a calorie deficit is the absolute best thing for loosing weight, I suspect you are looking for fat burning exercises.
You tube has a wealth of them but it depends who you believe as to what is considered 'fat burning'. There is apparently a 'fat burning zone' whereby if you keep your heart rate within certain parameters you will burn fat. Some disagree on just what heart rate that is, others say the zone is a myth.
I don't know who to believe so I stick with maintaining a 500 calorie deficit as provided by MFP and working my *kitten* off at the gym.0 -
I like the push away from the table exercise.0

They are metabolic workouts that create a calorie after burn. Some called shredders. Hiit type exercise. Weight lifting or interval training. Jillian micheals fat blast metabolism. Zumba etc. Something that gets your heart rate in the fat burning zone.0

A caloric deficit for weight loss, exercise for health.0

The best method in my opinion is to do any cardio, sports, or other activity that you enjoy enough to do on a regular basic, and also follow a good strength training program to keep a high metabolism. NROLFW and Stronglifts are popular strength programs here.

Eat less.
Cardio burns calories.
Weight lifting makes you look good naked.
Do all 3 for best results.0 -

How do you disagree with number 3? It's an objective fact0 -
OP you can't out run a bad diet.0

Better<=>Good0

calorie deficit = weight loss
calorie deficit + activity = weigh loss
there is no "best" exercise for weight loss. You can run 30 miles a week and eat over maintenance and you will not lose a pound.0 -

Maybe we could compromise and all agree that weight lifting makes one look better naked versus what they looked like naked before weight lifting.
A cautionary tale for anyone interested in reading it (addressed to no one in particular): A good friend of mine was having a long distance relationship with a Euro. She dieted frantically so she could be tiny when they finally got together for a romantic tryst when she travelled there. She did not do a lick of exercise. The first thing he said to her when she stripped her clothes off in front of him was "Have you lost a lot of weight lately?"
Bet that went down well :huh:0 -
I would have put my clothes back on and told him not to be so damn rude. Ha ha0

Exercise or calorie deficit or both.
For best results do both.0
