I really need some help
so as of late this past week or so ive kinda taken over cooking dinner at my house. Recently my mom was told she has high cholesteral, or something like that, and was told to cut out white foods and starches.
when i cook my typical meal has meat as the main dish, a veggie side, and sweet potatoes to replace regular potatoes. But i kinda wanna mix things up a bit. I dont want her to get bored of sweet potatoes, or chicken(which is what my meals have been staring)
so any ideas what i can cook or use in place of chicken and sweet potatoes when cooking dinner meals.
And please dont suggest anything with fish because my mom will NOT eat fish under any circumstances.
thanks in advance!

Beans, brown rice, or whole wheat pasta would be a good alternative to sweet potatoes. You could use ground turkey, or boneless pork chops instead of chicken. All lean choices. I would try making spice blends. You can take the same chicken, veggie and sweet potatoes to different cuisine by just changing the spice mix. Here is some no salt blends you could try. All are great on chicken, fish or pork. soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2014/05/no-salt-seasonings.html0

Spaghetti squash instead of pasta. Does not taste like pasta but delicious. soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2013/09/bbq-spaghetti-squash-with-pulled-chicken.html
Cauliflower instead of potatoes. Does not taste like potatoes. But a delicious comforting veggie side dish. soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2014/02/microwave-garlic-mashed-cauliflower.html

I forgot to say you can use cauliflower to cream soups, in place of rice just shred it, or instead of couscous.
I also like shredded chicken with bbq sauce in a sweet potato. You can also make potato salad with half white and half sweet potatoes. Use light sour cream or yogurt for the dressing. Delicious!
Ground turkey is great in chili, tacos, mini meatloaves, meat sauce, burgers, soup, etc.
I have made a lot of turkey burgers. soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/search/label/Burgers0
