I seem to be gleaning here that there is no real way to log weightlifting for caloric offset - am I missing something? Only if you do it tabata style does it count? Seems weird....

When I logged religiously I only logged cardio, not weight lifting. And even then I never trusted the number and ate all those calories back. You could get a HRM and measure the number of calories burned and subtract the numbers of calories you'd expend doing nothing during that same amount of time. That might give you an idea.

    Hi:
I enjoy weight lifting. I do cardio just for warming up. I use a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) for measuring calories burned. In general, weight lifting does not burn a lot of calories. That is not the objective. Building muscle is the goal
Good luck with your healthy journey

Add "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" to Cardiovascular to get estimated Calories Burned added to your Diary. Please note that the Calories burned for Cardiovascular exercises are estimates for a general population and may differ for you as an individual. If desired, add individual strength training exercises, such as "Biceps Curl," to Strength Training to have a log of sets, reps, and weights as individual exercises.
