My scale may be EVIL

I weight myself every morning. I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it. The first time I get on it it always gives me an insultingly high number. So I brush my teeth and hair and get on again. Usually it's a nicer number. However, since I already have two numbers I MUST get on again just to find out what the real number is. Of course, it gives me yet another number! I repeat the process several more time until it gives me the lowest number a second time. However, when anybody else uses the scale they get the exact same number each time!! grrrrrrrrr Is my weight really fluctuating by the moment or is my scale just evil?

What kind of scale is it? I would be suspicious of getting the same measurement every weigh-in but it also shouldn't vary greatly if you are weighing just minutes apart, assuming you're not drinking anything or showering during those minutes.
I have a scale that lets you set up profiles for a few different people. If my weight does not differ by at least a certain amount (I think 2 pounds? Can't remember for sure.) from my last weigh-in, it gives me the last weigh-in amount. To get around that, I first weigh myself while holding something heavy (usually a bottle of cleaner) and then I let it zero out and weigh myself again.0 -
Step on it once and let it go. If the fluctuations are driving you nuts, only do it once a week maximum.0

Why not weigh once, just once, and make it the same each time - say, first thing in the morning after you've peed?
How much is the difference? Because you shouldn't be seeing a significant difference just from the five or so minutes it takes to brush your teeth and hair. Maybe it's time for a new scale, or to replace the battery in this one.

Ah me and my scale had a similar relationship. I even broke up with it for over a year. I finally broke down and got a new "high tech" scale. The withings one. BEST THING EVER!
Because of the daily fluctuations, sometimes as much as two pounds, I would get discouraged by what I would see on the scale. It always felt like 1 pound off, 2 pounds on...over and over again. With the new scale and Trendweight I can see that I am actually losing weight. That beautiful red line is trending down, regardless of what the stupid number on the scale that day is!0
