Gonna start cycling. I have owned a Trek 1.2 for about a year and used it regularly last year before the winter. One think I wish I could do is get the most out of biking. What are some tips you all use to get the most out of the cycling?

Ride the bike. It's that simple.

    Yep.

You could do intervals or hill repeats or similarly difficult workouts that competitive cyclists do, but I think the above advice is better.
Put in the miles, explore, learn to love the bike. All I did for the first year I cycled was explore local bike trails and gradually go further and further. Trust me, you'll get a good workout.

Ride it everywhere: work, errands, wherever. Find a friendly cycling club near you and join their group rides.

This. Build a solid base before trying anything else.
