Your milk supply will not suffer unless you starve yourself, do not worry. The simplest is to figure out your maintenance calories as if you were not breastfeeding and eat there. Breastfeeding will add an extra 300-500 calories burned, which will lead to losing weight. You do not need to eat these extra calories to make milk if you have weight to lose.0

There are a lot of variables to consider. What is your start weight and goal? How much do you want to lose each week? How old is baby? Are you EBF or supplimenting with formula?
Here is what I do:
I determined my goal by setting MFP for a 1lb a week loss. I eat back 300-400 Breastfeeding calories as "exercise" to support milk production. This works well for me and I'm averaging 0.5-1 lb of weight loss a week. I have had no noticeable decrease in milk supply. My baby is 8 weeks old and I am EBF her.0 -

So, would you base maintenance calories on current or goal weight? And how often would you reset goals?0 -

Maintenance is maintenace. Where you are now. WIthout counting breastfeeding, you are losing.0
